At Orange Realty Group, residents’ safety and peace of mind are our top priorities. While we work hard to maintain your home and community, it’s equally important that you protect your personal belongings and liability. That’s where renter’s insurance comes in.

We have created a short video to help you understand the benefits of obtaining renter’s insurance. This video provides valuable insights into protecting your belongings and meeting the requirements of your lease with Orange Realty Group. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND all residents to maintain renter’s insurance throughout their lease term. At the minimum, the residents are required to purchase liability insurance portion as specified here.

What is Renter's Insurance?

Renter’s insurance is a policy that covers your personal belongings and provides liability protection while you’re living in a rental property. Unlike homeowner’s insurance, which covers the structure itself, renter’s insurance is designed specifically for residents like you.

Why Do You Need Renter's Insurance?

  • Protection for Your Belongings: In the event of theft, fire, water damage, or natural disasters, renter’s insurance helps replace or repair your personal items.
  • Liability Coverage: If someone is injured in your home or if you accidentally damage someone else’s property, your policy can help cover legal and medical expenses.
  • Compliance with Lease Requirements: To ensure comprehensive protection, we require all residents to maintain:
    • A minimum $100,000 liability policy naming Orange Realty Group as an “additional interested party.”
    • For homes with private pools, a liability policy of no less than $300,000 is mandatory.
  • Affordable Peace of Mind: Renter’s insurance is typically very affordable. It’s a small investment for significant protection.

What Does Renter's Insurance Cover?

While coverage varies by policy, most renter’s insurance plans include:

  • Personal Property Coverage: Protects your belongings from unexpected events.
  • Liability Protection: Covers legal or medical expenses if you’re found responsible for injuries or damage.
  • Additional Living Expenses: Assists with costs if your home becomes temporarily uninhabitable.
